Morris L. Seem, 87, of Perrysburg, Ohio, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
He was the youngest son of the late Howard Sr. and Edna “May” (Swartz) Seem, of Wood County, Ohio.
Morris retired in 1991 with 30 years from GM Powertrain in Toledo, Ohio.
Throughout his years, he was an avid sportsman, playing basketball, golf and bowling. His favorite sport was softball. He founded Jugs/Local 14 in 1970, and managed the team to several victories until 1990. Over the years his team became like family to his family. Their big win was the 1986 Industrial National Championship in Parkersburg, WV. Throughout his life he was given fond nicknames known to some as Morrie, Louie, Duffer and Buster.
Morris was a huge BGSU fan! Go Falcons!!
He also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty-Jean (Boyd) Seem; son, Michael, granddaughter, Marissa; brothers, Howard, Jr., Donald, Herald and Gerald Seem and sisters, Doris Massey, Dora, Deloris Roberts, Eloise McCoy, Carol Ann, Donna Wright and Patty Wollam.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Ken) Moore; grandsons, Chad (Tina) Thieman, Craig Thieman, Curtis (Julie Heintz) Thieman and great-granddaughter, Isla June Thieman.
His family extends their gratitude to all family, friends, and caregivers who supported him, especially in his final years. He will be loved and missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501, Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family will be received prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Webster Cemetery in Pemberville, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Parrish Health Systems of Ohio in his memory.
