Monte Jackson, 73, of Vickery, Ohio passed away recently at Stein Hospice in Sandusky after a lengthy battle with cancer. Monte was born in Fremont, Ohio on December 21, 1952, the son of Henry M. and Joyce M. (Hoffman) Jackson, Jr.
He was a long haul owner/operator truck driver for most of his life. He was an avid duck hunter, traveling near & far to hunt. He enjoyed many years of boating with his family. Monte was a dedicated Harley Davidson rider and enjoyed traveling to Sturgis & Daytona for bike weeks.
No matter what his interests were, his first love was his family, especially his grandchildren. Monte is survived by his children: Sherri (Mark) Martin of Fremont, Ohio, Teresa Cazares of San Antonio, Texas, Monte Jackson of Vickery, Ohio, David Dickson of Vermilion, Ohio, and Dexter Dickson of Vermilion, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Raymond “Herb” Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Joyce; brothers, Gary, Randy, and Mark Jackson; and sisters, June Taylor and Georgann McKillips.
Monte’s family wishes to thank all of the home care and inpatient staff at Stein Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
There is no service scheduled at this time. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Fremont, Ohio at a later date.
