Mj Thompson

MJ (Liske) Thompson age 74 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Amityville, NY on February 23, 1943 to Carl and Almina (Stull) Liske. MJ was a graduate of Woodward High School and earned her bachelors degree in education from the University of Toledo. She taught for 47 years teaching at Toledo Public Schools, Washington Local, Jackson Public School and eventually becoming a long term substitute teacher throughout Lucas County. MJ also taught at St. Charles School, Owens Community College and Bowling Green State University. She was a 50 year member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, American Association of University Women and the Red Hat Ladies of Waterside. She enjoyed traveling; her lake house in Port Clinton, OH and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters, Holly (Scot) Lawson, Jennifer (Tim) Wosta; son in-law, Ted Hazard; grandchildren, Abby Lawson, Amy Lawson, Jeffrey Hazard and Emily Hazard. Also surviving is her lifelong friend, Linda Finucan. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4-8 PM where funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 AM.
