Miriam (Micki) Louise Studer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Otterbein Sunset House in Ottawa Hills. Micki was born in Detroit MI, January 12, 1940. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Mackenzie High School where she was involved in National Junior Honor Society, orchestra, choir, and musical theatre. After graduation she went to North Central College, Naperville IL, and earned a BA in Music Education. She and Larry met in college choir and the two began a life making beautiful music together. They were married August 19, 1961, in Detroit.
After college, Micki taught junior high music in Lyle, IL until their first child, Diane, was born. Micki and Larry moved to Perrysburg in 1966 for Larry’s job teaching government at Perrysburg High School. They lived in Perrysburg until 2000. While in Perrysburg, Micki served as the Music Director at Grace United Methodist Church from 1966 to 1976. In 1976, Micki and Larry became charter members of Perrysburg Alliance Church where she served as Music Director until 1996. She directed church choirs and ensembles, played piano and organ, and with Larry, sang for countless weddings, funerals and other special events. Micki taught private piano lessons for nearly fifty years to numerous hard-working students. She was also an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she met and made treasured friends. They retired to Stuart FL in 2000, where they enjoyed exploring their surroundings. She and Larry were active in church choir, Bible study and fellowship groups. Micki loved the Florida weather, beaches, and showing off the sights to all who came to visit, usually including a delicious meal at one of their favorite restaurants. While they were sad to leave their beloved Florida, they moved back to Ohio in 2019 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Larry, daughters Diane (Gary) Russell of Omaha NE, Sharon (Andrew) Ryder of Lynnwood WA, and Kathryn (Jason) Lankey of Maumee, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, sisters-in law, Gail Perkins of Bowling Green, Karen (Doug) Mold of Swanton and numerous cherished family members & friends. She is predeceased by her parents Richard and Bernice Frasch, sister Barbara Frasch, and brother-in-law Alvie Perkins.
Family and friends will be received at Perrysburg Alliance Church, 10401 Avenue Road, Perrysburg, on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Russell officiating.
