The Lord embraced a fierce and feisty new soldier, Jeanne Kokinda, 80, of Port Clinton, OH, Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at H.B. Magruder Hospital. Jeanne was born on February 13, 1938 in Shelby, OH, the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Heston) Amato. On October 04, 1958, she married Richard Kokinda and he survives. Jeanne was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She has been the face of Rich’s Carryout for decades and was loved by so many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Our Mom was an amazing, strong, loving woman, and was the best Mom & Grandmother and the true center of our family. We will miss her more than words can say. She taught us well and we will carry on her legacy. Till we meet again Mom, soar with the angels. Those left to cherish her memory are: Loving Husband: Richard Kokinda; Children: Kimberlee K. (Dale) Trent, Richard (Diane Gresh) Kokinda and Lori A. Kokinda; Grandchildren: Dale “Brother” Trent, Tiffany (Josh Gwinn) Trent, Jake Kokinda and Zach Kokinda; Great-Granddaughter: Harper Jeanne Gwinn expected April 2019; Brother James (Char) Amato and Sisters: Carol McLaury and Mary Jo (Bob) Mays. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8pm, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Family prayers will be held at 9:30am, Monday, December 17th at the funeral home, followed by the Funeral Mass conducted by Father John Missler at 10:00am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
