Milton J. Rueger, M.D.

Milton J. Rueger, M.D., formerly of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek on September 1, 2008. He celebrated his 100th birthday March 18, 2008 and led an active life until the end of June. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan as were his five siblings. He was also a graduate of Wayne State College of Medicine. Milton was a board certified cardiologist. He practiced medicine in the Detroit area, retiring twenty years ago. At Michigan he met the love of his life, Margret and they were married 68 years until her death in 2005. They have one daughter, Jane Willis, of Toledo. He served in the U.S. Medical Corps on the European front from 1942-45. He and his wife had a very full life. He rode horseback at the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club, bowled and played golf at the Country Club of Detroit. They traveled world-wide. At age 95, Milton joined the Toledo Country Club. He was a long-time member of the St. James Lutheran Church Grosse Pointe and more recently of Olivet Lutheran Church Sylvania. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, William H. Willis, M.D.; grandchildren, Peter Lyn Willis and Penny Ken Haas, and six great-grandchildren, Anna and Carter Willis, Kira, Ian, Margaret and Nathan Haas. Memorial services will be held at the Lutheran Village Wolf Creek Chapel, 2001 Perrysburg-Holland Rd. on Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.
