Milton Clarence Mann passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, due to injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 89 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lee Richmond Chapman. He is survived by his children, Martha Christine (Marc) Utter of Cincinnati, Michael Conrad (Ann) Mann of Martin and Mary Elizabeth (Lynn) Krauss of Fostoria; six grandchildren, Tim (Angie) Mann, Joel Mann, David Krauss, Dawn (Adam) David, Doris (Matt) Owen, Matt (Megan) Utter and nine great grandchildren, Addyson and Avery Mann, Lily, Ivy and Harvey David, Melanie and Natalee Owen and Liam and Augustus Utter; and sister Marjorie Haberkamp of Rochester, Michigan, and her children and grandchildren. He also leaves a very close friend, Lois Staber. Pastor Mann graduated from Woodward High School in 1944 and served in the Army during WWII. When he returned home, he attended the University of Toledo graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1948. He worked as an inspector at the Pure Oil Refinery in Toledo until after all three of his children were born. He then packed up his family and moved to Philadelphia to attend the Lutheran Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1958 and moved to Hilliard, Ohio, to start a mission church. From this, Resurrection Lutheran Church was born, which grew and thrived and remains very active today. Pastor Mann received a call to St. Marks in Fremont, Ohio, in 1966 and served there for 18 years. While in Fremont Pastor Mann was involved in social services and was the Chaplain for the Fremont Police Department for a number of years. He served on the boards of the Lutheran Orphans and Old Folks Home Society and the Luther Home of Mercy. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and became a Hunter Safety Education instructor for the State of Ohio. He was awarded a life membership in the VFW and DAV. Pastor Mann served in the Chaplain capacity of the Wood County Sheriffs Department. He was a man of God and loved his country and family dearly. He helped so many people during their times of trouble. He was a good father, grandfather and great grandfather, and we will miss him dearly. Visitation for Pastor Mann will be 2-8 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge. Inurnment will take place in Forest Cemetery, Toledo. The family has suggested that memorials for Pastor Mann be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, P.O. Box 279, Stony Ridge, OH 43463; Lutheran Homes Society, 2021 N.
