Mildred C. Sattler, 101, died peacefully on March 7, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 13, 1916 in Perrysburg, Ohio, to Frank and Lulu Rectenwald. She was educated at St. Rose Elementary School and Perrysburg High School. On October 29, 1938, she married Howard R. Sattler, and they celebrated 52 years together. As a dedicated wife and mother, she always cherished spending time with family and helping others. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, golf and traveling. She was a member of Sylvania Country Club for 64 years and hosted family and friends during the winter months at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. She is lovingly survived by her children, Carole (Frank) Ryan, Gary (Fran) Sattler, Loren (Linda) Sattler and Lynn (Kathy) Sattler; grandchildren, Stacey Sattler (Jason Eggerstorfer), Scott Sattler, Chad (Kristen) Sattler, Nathalie Ryan, Cynthia (Tom) Robertson, Kerry Ryan, Casey (Emily) Sattler, Ashley Sattler and Brock Sattler; great-grandchildren, Carter, Riley, Anderson and Campbell Sattler, Sofia and Jadyn Sattler, Leah Sattler, Julia and Lauren Sattler, Molly, Erin and Caroline Robertson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Dale; her brothers, Howard and Edgar Rectenwald; and her sisters, Loretta Kervin, Marian Harrison, and Pauline Kemper. A widow for 27 years, Millie continued to live at home even in her later years with the caring help of her family, friends and care givers, especially Silvia Douglas, Dorris Hickman, Anne Estrada, Kim Rau, and Selina Byrd. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Flower Hospital, The Lakes of Sylvania, and Ebeid Hospice for their care and support. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Corpus Christi University Parish with Rev. James Bacik officiating. The family will greet guests beginning at 10:00 in the church. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a private interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Leadership Program at Corpus Christi University Parish, Ebeid Hospice, or St. Francis de Sales School.
