Mildred “Carol” Puhl of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully, July 24, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 19, 1945 to Alvin and Viola (Cousino) Gaynier in Monroe, MI. Carol lived in LaSalle, MI until her marriage. She married Henry Joseph Puhl on April 23rd, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in Monroe, MI and later attended Mary Manse College in Toledo, OH. Her first position was at Monroe Community College Library, she then worked in the College of Education at the University of Toledo. She stopped working outside the home to raise her family who meant everything to her. Later in life she worked at St. John’s Jesuit High School Library, Lourdes College Mailroom and retired from Owens Community College. Carol enjoyed doing things with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. Her life revolved around her love for her family. For forty-six years, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. Carol is survived by her husband, her rock, Henry, daughter, Kathleen Puhl of Chicago, IL; sons, Joseph (Andrea) of Maumee and Matthew (Amber) of Monclova; grandchildren, Gavin, Zachary, Adele and Stuart; sister, Loretta Cory of Maumee, brother, Arthur (Dorothy) Gaynier of LaSalle, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Alvin Gaynier Jr., and sister, Virginia Ann Cousino. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Thursday, July 27, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm where a rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Prayers will begin at the funeral home at 10:00am, July 28, 2017 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am to be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Maumee. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Capital Campaign, Masses, Heartbeat or the charity of the donors choice.
