Mildred S. Lipstraw, “Millie”, 88, of Oak Harbor, died early in the morning of Friday, May 11, 2018, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH. Mildred was born September 12, 1929, in Fremont, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles F. and Jessie (Caris) Biehler. She graduated from Flower Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and worked in public health nursing in Toledo and Fremont Community Hospital. She married Franklin H. Lipstraw on September 16, 1949, in Oak Harbor and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1994. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Mildred enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and reading about WWII history and was a caregiver for family and friends. Her greatest joy and most precious treasures were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mildred is survived by her son, Robert (Kaye) Lipstraw of Oak Harbor and daughter, Carol (Terry) Tabbert of Graytown; grandchildren, Michael Lipstraw, Jeffrey Lipstraw, Monica Garrison, Jenny Moll and Amy Quinones; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Thomas Lipstraw, two sisters and nine brothers, two of whom were killed overseas during WWII. Visitation for Mildred will be Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery.
