Mildred C Holman

Mildred C. (Gomer) Holman, 94, of Oregon OH, previously of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Orchard Villa in Oregon. She was born December 21, 1920 to Harry and Catherine (Spoehl) Gomer in Toledo, Ohio. During her lifetime, she worked a total of 27 years for the American Can Co., General Electric and the Toledo Public Schools, retiring in 1982. Mildred attended St. Mary’s Catholic in Toledo, through the 6th grade and St. Charles Catholic School, and graduated from Libbey High School in 1939. She was a member of the East Toledo Senior Center for 25 years, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and day trips after retirement. Also enjoyed and could be found crocheting and knitting, made numerous afghans which were shared with others, plus other items. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Holman and son-in-law, Robert Casselberry; brother, Robert Gomer (1976) and sister, Charlotte Jiannuzzi (2005). Mildred is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Omer E. Holman; daughters, Mary Casselberry and Susan (Robert) Ortloff; grandchildren, Robert, Michael, and William Casselberry. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 10:00 am until the start of her Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH.
