Mildred D. Millie Holcomb

Mildred D. “Millie” Holcomb, 89, of Vermilion, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Kingston of Vermilion Healthcare Center in Vermilion, Ohio. She was born on November 15, 1929 in Dorton, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Orville and Ollie (Hamilton) Tackitt. She married Carl Holcomb in Pikeville, Kentucky and he preceded her in death in 2002.  Millie worked at US Gypsum for over 27 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Florida. After moving to Ohio, she faithfully attended Little Edna Old Regular Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio. During her free time she enjoyed going fishing, tending to her garden, and watching the birds. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” (Ed) Charlton, of Elyria; son, Don (Brenda) Holcomb, of Oak Harbor, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Aretta “Twink” Maloy, and her brother, Paris Tackitt.  Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 11 am until Funeral Services at 1 pm with Elder Dennis Elkins and Elder Larry Newsome officiating.
