Michelle A. Calkins

Michelle A. Chelle Calkins, 58, of Lyons and formerly of Toledo, died peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born June 29, 1957 in Toledo to the late Fred and Virginia (Reiner) Calkins. A graduate of Rogers High School, Chelle began her 32-year career with the Kroger Company at the former Kroger store on Central at Holland-Sylvania. She earned her way to Deli Department Head and worked at many area Krogers, retiring from the Sylvania store on Monroe at Harroun. She helped many to be promoted with her excellent training and support. Chelle had an open and beautiful heart, was always willing to listen and help anyone in need. She was loved by all who met her. Chelle attended Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg, enjoyed visiting the casino and being outdoors. She especially liked the water including swimming and spending time at the beach. Family was most important to Chelle and she will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Donald Browning and Michelle Greenwalt; step son, Kody Huddleston; grandchildren, Ivy and Lily Browning; sister, Christine (Michael) Terry; brother, Terry (Marlene) Calkins; special aunt, Joyce (Chuck) Lemon; and special nephew, David Lemon. She was also preceded in death by sister, Judy Rehard; aunt, Gertrude Toot Corwin; and uncle, Ernest Pete Corwin. Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m., Tuesday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August, 26, 2015. Memorials are suggested to Ebeid Hospice.
