Michael Joseph Weiss

Mr. Michael Joseph Weiss, Sr., 75, of McMinnville, TN, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at his residence. He was born August 16, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio. Michael served in the Ohio Army National Guard and retired as a machinist with F. M. C. in Lakeland, FL. He was an inventor for the boating industry, licensed boat captain, member of Sunny Hills Baptist Church, past president of McMinnville Cruisers, and a volunteer at River Park Hospital. Mr. Weiss was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Benjamin Weiss and Dorothy Lucille (Walls) Weiss Young; and step father, William Young. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Weiss of McMinnville; children, Michael Joseph (Tammy) Weiss, Jr. of McMinnville, Mark Alan (Jacqueline) Weiss of Brentwood, TN and Michele Joann Weiss of Tallahassee, FL; and grandchildren Cody Lane Weiss, Amanda Lynne Weiss, Mark Alexander Weiss, and Anna Claire Weiss. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue (west of Corey Road). Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
