Michael David Vollmer

Michael D. Vollmer, 18, of Port Clinton, died unexpectedly, Thursday, September 29, 2011, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Michael was born November 25, 1992, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Gary Lunsford and Sheila Vollmer. He was currently a freshman attending Gods Bible School & College in Cincinnati. Michael was a 2011 graduate of Port Clinton High School, where he played football #64, all four years, played the sax, the trombone and sang in the choir for four years. He participated in the DECA Nationals in 2011 and the Touch of Class, received the 9 to 5 Award, and the Firelands Positive People Award. Michael was a member of the Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church. Michael was loved by all and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Sheila, his sisters, Kaylee and Samantha, his father, Gary, grandmother, Jean Yount, uncle, Bill Yount, special friend, Becca Gase, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bernie Yount, paternal grandparents, Paul and Artie Lunsford and his uncle, John Vollmer. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2011, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011, in Trinity United Methodist Church., Port Clinton; Rev. Deron Fourman officiating. Interment will take place in LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne. Memorials for Michael may be directed to the Port Clinton High School Music Boosters or the Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church.
