Michael Jay Twining, age 49 of Holland, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family after a two and a half year battle with esophageal cancer. He was born February 11, 1962 in Toledo to Richard and Mary Casali Twining. Mike graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School and was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then continued at UT and earned his Masters Degree. He was employed at the Chrysler Toledo Machining Plant in Perrysburg for 23 years. Mike enjoyed photography, woodworking and his love for Airedale dogs. He was also a devoted University of Michigan and University of Toledo Rocket Fan. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lori Lynn; son Jonathan Neal; loving four legged companion, Teddy; parents Richard and Mary Twining; sister Andrea Fleming; Mother-in-law Joyce Barrett; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jenean and Brian Ferree; brother-in-law Matthew Barrett; and nieces and nephews Jack Ferree, and Mollie, Maddie and Nathan Barrett. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Wednesday from 2-8 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 AM in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 W. Plumer St. Toledo, Ohio.
