Michael Lee Overmyer

Michael "Mike" Lee Overmyer, 68, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away on Sunday,

September 20, 2026 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on October 29, 1957 to Donald

and Judy (Tusing) Overmyer.

Mike was a 1976 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. Following high school, he

began his career driving truck for Luckey Farmers, where he worked from 1976 to

2005. He later worked for Seaway Fuels Trucking until his retirement in 2015. Even

after retirement, Mike continued doing what he loved, spending the last seven years

driving for LaFountain Farms.

Mike was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor,

where he had served on council and enjoyed providing the flowers for the church in

memory of loved ones. He also found joy in the things that brought people together,

whether snowmobiling, playing bingo, listening to karaoke, attending livestock shows

at the Ottawa County and Ohio State Fairs, watching demolition derbies, or cheering

on his favorite teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys. Mike loved

having any reason to celebrate, from birthdays to holidays, because he treasured

gathering with friends and family and sharing in the traditions that meant so much

to him. More than anything, Mike valued the people in his life. He loved connecting

with others, whether talking on the phone, striking up a conversation with someone

new, sharing a story, or simply listening to what was happening in the lives of those

he cared about.

Mike is survived by his sister, Lisa (Brian) Butzin of Oak Harbor; his nephews,

Brayden and Brennan Butzin; and his four-legged companion, MooMoo. He was

preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Judy Overmyer.

Mike will be fondly remembered for his hardworking spirit, his connection to farming

and trucking, and his love of conversation. He will be deeply missed by all who knew

and loved him.

A memorial service for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30,

2026, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa Street, Oak Harbor,

Ohio. Pastor Becky Bolander will officiate. Following the service, all will be welcome

to gather for a luncheon and celebration of Mike's life.
