Michael Alan Metchis

Michael Alan Metchis, age 57, of Toledo, died May 23, 2016 at his home. He was born January 20, 1959 in Glendale, AZ . Michael loved Indy cars and NASCAR and was very skilled in the field of electronics. He was in on the development of Indy telemetry racing helmet communication systems and created Edge Performance Monitors, computers that gather data from race cars. He had worked with the North American Ferrari Racing Team at LeMans and most recently was employed as an electronics technician at Ars & Yours in Toledo. Michael was highly intelligent and had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his mother and father in law, Rose and Chuck Kendall; sons, Christopher, Ryan and Taylor Metchis; brothers, Howard and Warren; former wife, Tracey Beyer; and several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
