Michael J. Kerul, 85, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at his residence. Mike was born August 25, 1926, in Jaklovca, Czechoslovakia, the son of Michael and Maria Jurtinus Kerul. On August 24, 1973 he married Janet Charline Runion Fleming and she survives. Mike served as a PFC in the Grave Registration Platoon of the U. S. Army during WWII. He owned and operated Mikes Plumbing Heating until his retirement. Mike loved camping and was a Florida snowbird. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Wife: Janet Charline Kerul; Children: Teresa Paul Richardson, Michael Jan Kerul, Marie Larry Janes, Bernadette Jim Meredith, Eugenie Ed Crotte, Joseph Linda Kerul, Judith Bee, Concetta Paul Upton; Step-Children: Keith Fleming, Craig Fleming, Kay Fleming Zimmerman, Curt Gretchen Fleming and Karen Fleming; Grandchildren: 20; Great-Grandchildren: 5. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, twin granddaughters and his former wife: Mary DeLuca Kerul. Cremation has taken place under the direct care of Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. A Memorial service will be conducted by Father Michael Wiechers, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00AM, where there will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Mike may be given to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church .
