Michael Jerome Grant, age 57, passed away peacefully, May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
Born on September 15, 1968, in Monroe, Michigan, Michael built a life defined by dedication and heart. He worked for Cenovus as a Maintenance Manager, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and leadership. He also proudly served as a firefighter on the company's emergency response team, always ready to step in when others needed help. Michael was known for his no-nonsense attitude and favorite saying, "got things dun! D.U.N." a phrase that perfectly captured his determination and drive.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved deer hunting and fishing for walleye on the Detroit River, embracing every opportunity to be outdoors. He had a passion for travel and made it a priority to take annual family vacations, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
At home, Michael took great pride in his bountiful vegetable garden and was an exceptional cook, known especially for his perfectly prepared steaks and pastas. He also enjoyed woodworking, crafting many pieces by hand, including beautiful American flags that reflected both his skill and his pride.
Michael had a love for country music, trucks, and time spent out on the water in his boat. More than anything, he was a people person, someone who genuinely enjoyed being around others. He was always there for friends and family, offering support, wisdom, and often a well-timed joke to make everyone feel welcome. His humor, warmth, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Michael will be remembered for his beautiful heart, his steady presence, and the wisdom he shared so freely.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula Grant; son, Nathaniel (Holly) Grant; daughter, Alyshia Grant; and grandchildren, Arthur and Adalynn.
