Michael "Mike" Genzman, 61, passed away June 15, 2023, at his home in Tucson, Arizona after battling liver disease for several years. On December 20, 2009, he married Mariana Ferreyra, and she was by his side the entire time. Mike was born to Allen and Sandra (St. Clair) Genzman September 17, 1961, in Oak Harbor, OH. He grew up in Oak Harbor and was active in baseball and the Boy Scouts. Upon graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1979, he attended Hobart School of Welding in Troy, OH. His passion for the skilled trades, especially welding and machining, led him to work for many local companies including Black Machine Co., American National Can, Durivage Pattern, Northern Manufacturing, Knorn Machining, PSE Archery, Vroom Manufacturing and finally traveling the world for Fidia.
In addition to being an avid Detroit Tigers fan, Mike loved everything yellow perch and Lake Erie fishing. He was also a devoted cyclist, participating in MS Bike to the Bay and El Tour de Tucson. Golfing on the Arizona links was also a favorite time for him. However, he was most happy to be the proud “G-pa” to Jack and Stella.
Surviving is his wife, Mariana; children Tom Genzman and Stephanie Genzman; grandchildren Jack and Stella; mother, Sandra; sister, Cynthia Genzman, and brother Randall (Monica) Genzman as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father; grandparents, Louis and Marie St. Clair, Wilbur and Virginia Genzman; and brother, Charlie Genzman.
A visitation will be held at Robinson Walker Funeral Home in Oak Harbor on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 12-8 PM.
