Michael James Erskine

Born to James and Joe Ann Erskine, Mike was the third of six siblings. He was born on August 19, 1951, which was his mother’s birthday. This created much fanfare every year much to his consternation. His parents and sister, Diane (Dino) Johnson, went to heaven before him. He is survived by his son Christopher with his wife Renee and children Bryce and Regan; and his daughter Sara with her husband Tony Keel and daughter Claire. He is also survived by siblings Cindy Rockwell, Jane Coté, Scott Erskine and Tim Erskine. He was a successful businessman in the banking industry. He was mentioned in American Banker and on the cover of Michigan Banker. We are not sure what exactly he did, but we were very proud. His passion in life was children. He loved his children, grandchildren and enjoyed any child he met. During the holidays he could be found sitting at the “kids table.” He was quick with engaging and humorous stories of his grandchildren. His life was taken by the ravages of a hereditary disease that is not well understood in our society. One that takes its toll on family and friends. Our hearts are broken. We will miss you, Mike.
