Michael Dennis Bard

March 21, 1950 — March 1, 2026

Michael "Mike" Bard, 75, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family.

Mike was born on March 21, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Benny and Lucille Bard. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, with his service spanning from 1968 to 1973.

On February 28, 1969, Mike married Rebecca Bard, and together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to their family. They were blessed with two children, Jennifer Harrod and Randy Bard, who remained a constant source of pride and joy throughout his life.

Mike was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was always ready to lend a hand with challenging home improvement projects, sharing his knowledge and experience with patience and humor. When things didn't go as planned, he would simply say, "Okay, here's what we're going to do," and somehow, everything turned out all right.

He was an avid golfer, cherishing time on the course with family, friends, and especially fellow veterans from his Navy days. Mike also had a deep appreciation for both new and classic cars, a passion he enjoyed sharing with those he loved.

Beyond his personal interests, Mike built a successful large‑format printing business and became known as one of the best in the area-particularly for projects requiring exceptional attention to detail. His craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of many.

Among his proudest personal accomplishments were the two holes‑in‑one he achieved on the golf course-memories that brought joy to him and to everyone who celebrated those moments with him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rebecca Bard of Toledo; his daughter, Jennifer Harrod, and son‑in‑law, Scott Harrod; his son, Randy Bard, and daughter‑in‑law, Maureen Bard; his grandchildren, Colin Bard and Kaitlyn Bard; his brother, John Bard; and his sisters, Margaret Allen, Mary Bouchard, Patty Shepherd, and Helen O'Keefe.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Bard; his mother, Lucille Bard; and his brother, Steve Bard.

We thank God every day for the time we were blessed to share with him. His steady presence, his kindness, and his unwavering love will remain with us always.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's name to the Gentiva Foundation at https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/GentivaFoundation/GHS.html
