Merle Robert Baldwin

Merle Robert Baldwin, 64, went to meet the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022. He was born November 3, 1957 in National City, CA to Grover and Donna (Russell) Baldwin. He was a 1977 graduate of Genoa Area High School.

Merle enjoyed fishing, model cars, playing cards with his great nieces and nephews. But his favorite pastime was watching sports. From Cincinnati Reds baseball to Toledo Rocket football and his favorite Green Bay Packers.

He was a long time resident of Riverview nursing center. The family thanks the staff for all of the excellent care and love they showed him. Despite all his little shenanigans. He very much loved you all.

Merle is survived by his sister, Rhonda(Robert) Banky. Nephew, Walker(Kim) Banky and nieces, Beth(Cedrick Walker) Banky and Lisa Smith. As well as great nieces and nephews; Jillian(Noah), Nathan, Derek(Taylah), Jaelyn(Corwin), Tanaé, Elijah, Kendrick and Daxton. Merle was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services for Merle will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH with visitation prior from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Burial will follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH.  Memorial contributions in memory of Merle may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.  The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com .
