Mercedese Lenning, 93, of Millbury, died early Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012, in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. She was born April 8, 1919, in Caledonia, Ohio, to Christian D. and Marie L. Hoffman and graduated in 1937 from Caledonia High School. On November 7, 1943, in Caledonia, she married Clarence W. Lenning and he preceded her in death April 9, 2004, after 60 years of marriage. Mercedese was an active member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Millbury. Her first and foremost love was her family, and they enjoyed traveling and camping together all over the U.S. She also enjoyed baking pies and cookies and especially loved gardening all kinds of flowers. Mercedese was a nice person, who enjoyed being around others. She is survived by her sons, Ed W. Lenning and Ronald W. Pamela Lenning both of Graytown, step grandchildren, Rebecca Dazley and Elizabeth Heschel, step-great grandchildren, Peyton and Sydney Heschel, and sister-in-law, Helen Hoffman of Caledonia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, three sisters, four brothers, three sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery, Graytown. Memorials for Mercedese may be directed to St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 1459 South St., Millbury, OH 43447.
