Melvina H. Troknya

Melvina H. Troknya, 86, of Maumee, died Sunday, September 21, 2008, in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Melvina was born September 27, 1921, in Clay Center, Ohio, to Gustav and Lillian Walton Lipstraw. On April 16, 1945, in Genoa she married Carl C. Troknya, who preceded her in death July 11, 1991. Melvina worked for Hunts Processing in Perrysburg for many years. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Maumee and enjoyed sewing, yard work, cooking, baking, and especially raising her children. She is survived by her son, Gary C. Troknya of Maumee and daughter, Sue R. Troknya of Maumee, granddaughter, Sarah Nichole Troknya of Toledo, and sisters, Myrtle Radke of Wadsworth and Loretta Dawson of Grafton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Elvera Daily and Evelyn Kimble, and brothers, Frank and Charles Lipstraw. Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown. The family suggests memorials for Melvina to St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center Palliative Care or the donors choice.
