Melvin L. Wainer, beloved husband and father, passed away the third of April 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marlene Wainer, daughter Marissa (James) Cummins, and his sister, nieces, and nephews. Mel was an auto broker in the Toledo area for 29 years where he continued to be the top salesman in the industry, receiving recognition and rewards for his achievements in sales. He valued his customers and wanted them to know he appreciated their loyalty throughout the years. Being a car enthusiast, he was a member of the Toledo Corvette Club. Mel was a 30+ year member of Rubicon Lodge #237 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the Zenobia Shrine. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Independence as a communications officer and also in the Naval Reserve. Loved ones and friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH, Sunday the Ninth of April from 4:00 – 9:00 pm with a Masonic Service to be conducted at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Services well be held the Tenth of April at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be given to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave Bethpage, NY 11714 for research and medical advancement in the cure for Pancreatic Cancer, lustgarten.org.
