Melvin “Bud” A. Spence, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio died Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born in Toledo on June 28, 1945 to Melvin & Henrietta (Corbett) Spence. Bud attended Rogers High School graduating in 1963. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army serving our country during the Vietnam War. Bud worked as a Parts Manager for Monroe Dodge for 32 years. On June 14, 1980 he married Bonnie Rybak and together they raised a family. Family meant everything to Bud. He was a great listener and people often turned to him for guidance in attaining their goals and dreams. He will best be remembered as fun loving, and loved to joke around. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and target shooting. Bud is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Bonnie Spence; sons, Paul and Pat Spence; grandchildren, John, Dakota, William, James, Daniel and Timothy; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Sana (David) Crawford; several nieces and nephews with special thanks to Bud’s nieces, Tammie & Crystal. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 2-8 PM at Neville Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
