Melvin Mike A. Snider, 78, of Genoa, died Monday afternoon, November 3, 2008, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Mike was born March 21, 1930, in Genoa, Ohio, to Arben L. and Eunice L. Ray Snider. On March 26, 1955, in Lagrange, IN, he married Bonnie Faye Dixon, who preceded him in death March 18, 2007. Mike was an owner/operator steel hauler for 30 years in the Detroit/Cleveland areas retiring in 1985. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa and a longtime member of the Teamsters Union; and having served in the U.S. Army, Mike was also a member of the Genoa American Legion Post #324 of Genoa. Mike enjoyed boating and traveling with his wife in their motor home. Mike is survived by his sons, Danny Lisa Snider of Cumming, GA, and Keith Shelley Snider of Williston; his grandchildren, Amanda Michael Gantt, Andrew Snider, Greg Emily Snider, Tracy Snider, Ron Erica Grosjean, and Randy Grosjean, and great grandson, Landon Grosjean. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Jeanette Snider of Genoa and sister-in-law, Elsie Snider of Elmore, and his dog, Pepper. His parents, wife, and brother, Kenneth Snider, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Mike will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Genoa. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008, in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Clay Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #1, Williston.
