Melvin J. Schwind

Melvin J. Schwind, 80, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Perrysburg on December 3, 1936 to Otto and Bertha (Getz) Schwind. He graduated from Perrysburg High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. Melvin married his sweetheart, Ann May on June 12, 1965 at St. Rose Catholic Church, where they were long time members. Together they worked on their farm and raised their family. Melvin was a member of the American Legion, the NRA and past President and board member of Perrysburg Elevator. Melvin is survived by his wife, Ann Schwind; children, Jodi (Todd) Traver, Chris (Michelle) Schwind, Leslee (Jeremy) Snyder and J.J. (Erin) Schwind; grandchildren, Marshall, Amanda, Courtney, Kara, Taylor and Ava; sister-in-law, Ardis Schwind. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard Schwind, Mary Ann Michaels, Arthur Schwind, Norman Schwind, Paul Schwind and Eileen Eckel. Friends and loved ones will be received on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary Street Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) where a scripture service will begin at 7 p.m. Funeral prayers will be held on July 6, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home with mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E.
