Melvin L. Hall Sr., 83, of Walbridge, died on Saturday, December 23, 2017 with his family by his side at Hospice of Northwest of Ohio in Toledo. Mr. Hall was born in Lake Twp., Ohio on September 14, 1934 to Clarence and Luella (Clausan) Hall. He was a graduate of Olney High School in Northwood, Ohio and went on to work at the former Libbey Owens Ford and then retired from CSX Transportation in 1994. Mr. Hall was a member of Bradner United Methodist Church. He met his last love, Lulu Costello and they were married in 1981. After Mr. Hall’s retirement, he and his wife became snowbirds traveling back and forth from North Fort Meyers, Florida to their residence in Walbridge, Ohio. He leaves to survive his wife of 36 years, Lulu M. Hall; son, Melvin L. Hall Jr.; daughters, Lori A. Hall and Julie Warner; stepchildren, David (Kathy) Costello, Cynthia (James) Haide, Carol (Paul) Franks, Joseph (Darlene) Costello, Anthony (Deborah) Costello, and Kimberly Baker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nephews, Brian (Elizabeth) Schasel and Mark Schasel; grand-nephew; Adam Schasel; along with many cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his sister and brother-in-law, Deanna (Albert) Schasel; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hall; and step-son, Gregory Costello. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge (419-666-3121). A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Kuhlman officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Hall’s name be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
