Melvin Guth

Melvin Guth, 86, of Port Clinton, OH passed away, Friday, August 07, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born on September 29, 1922 in Port Clinton, OH, the son of Clarence and Hattie Dangler Guth. He married Rita Darr and she preceded him in death on February 12, 1996. Melvin was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving from 1942 until 1945, during WWII. He worked as the county auditor until his retirement. Melvin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Sister-in-Law: Peggy Guth of Beavercreek, OH; Cousin: Charles Guth of Port Clinton, OH; Nephews: Tim Becky Guth of Dayton, OH and Thomas Beth Guth of West Chester, OH; Niece: Susan Timothy Fink of Phillipsburg, OH. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother: Alan Guth . Visitation will be 5-8PM, Monday, August 10, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or the Luther Home of Mercy.
