Melissa Dawn “Missy” “MiMi” Sammons, a beloved soul cherished for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith, passed away on May 19, 2024, under the trust of Southern Care hospice at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, Ohio. Melissa was born on October 19, 1967, to Ronald and Esther (Brown) Baker in Willard, Ohio. She attended Crestline High School before starting a new chapter of her life.
For 25 years, Melissa served as a dedicated State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), touching countless lives with her compassionate care. Her work took her to various places, but it was in the Fremont area where her heart truly belonged.
Faith was the cornerstone of Melissa's life, guiding her through every challenge and triumph. Raised in the Pentecostal tradition, she found solace and strength in her relationship with the divine, especially in her final days.
Melissa found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether spending time with her cherished grandchildren, indulging in her love for old Westerns and "Little House on the Prairie”, savoring scalding hot coffee, cruising on motorcycles, or sharing quiet moments with her beloved cat, Phoebe.
Her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to feel deeply touched the lives of all who knew her. Melissa will be remembered as a sweetheart, deeply family-oriented, and someone who wore her heart on her sleeve.
Melissa is survived by her children, Jasmyn & Kortnie Sammons, grandchildren, Alisity, Jasper, Zacherie, sister, Rhonda, nieces and nephews, Dustin, Cassie, Patrick, Tyler, Chloe, Josh, Ashlee, and Kortnie’s god-sister, Cassie. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Kodie Baker, and sisters, Cassandra & Darla.
