Melba G Hupp

Melba Gallette Hupp, 93, formerly of Toledo, Maumee and Holland, passed away Saturday, December 06, 2008 in Swanton Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 12, 1915 in Toledo to William and Adeline Lohner Gallette. Melba attended Libbey High School through her Sophomore Year and went back at age 48 to receive her GED. She worked as a Secretary for the Maumee Board of Education for 20 years, retiring in 1982. Melba was a member of First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo and the Order of Eastern Star Palestine Chapter 197. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and bowling. The widow of Walter W. Hupp, Melba is survived by her loving family, children, Gary Anita Hupp, Loa Bud Putman, Ralph Gloria Hupp, Elizabeth Randy Trotter and Lawrence Jennifer Hupp; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Melba was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Stoiber and brother, Valentine Gallette. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 Conant Street, Maumee where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
