Maxine C. Hall, age 87 of Sylvania passed away peacefully in her home. She was born November 24, 1924 in Sylvania to Carl and Florence Schaedler. She was active in the Sylvania Senior Center and was part of the Participant Council where she served as Vice President. Maxine was instrumental in the creation of the Womens Sunrise Breakfast Club, was a reception desk volunteer and participated in the senior follies both as a chorus member and a committee chair. She also spearheaded many fundraisers. Maxine received multiple Presidents Awards and was the 2011 We Love This Place award winner from the Senior Center. This prestigious award recognizes her outstanding commitment to the center. Maxine also gave testimonials on aging to high school and college students. Maxine was an active member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, a past president of St. Josephs Womens Club, numerous other committees and often helped out at the school in the art room. The widow of Lorus Hall, she was also preceded in death by a brother Harold Schaedler and sister Doris Hartline. She is survived by her sons Howard H. Carolyn Hall of Maumee and Michael Kay Hall of Niles, MI.; daughter Patricia Joseph Weis of Sylvania ; brother James Schaedler of Michigan; grandchildren Renee Allen, Dr. Matthew Weis, Kelly, Leslie, Chris, Brandon and Spencer Hall; 9 great grandchildren; step-grandchildren Susan M. Schmid and Thomas A. Kovacs; 3 step great-grandchildren ; and special friend Judy Mathes. Friends may visit at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM. Funeral services will begin Saturday in the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Josephs Church Sylvania. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
