Maxine Bernadine (Demaline) Gorsuch, 90, of Maumee, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 5th, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
Maxine was born February 13, 1935 in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter G. and the late Hilda B. (Precht) Demaline.
Maxine is also preceded in death by her brother Robert Demaline, and sisters, Isabelle Roth, Jeanette Hoeffel and Margaret (Slim) Goldsmith.
Maxine was the proud mother of her, "Five little girls"; Barbara (Dennis) Diehn, Virginia (Wesley) Shoup, JoAnn (Len) Wietecha, Jacque (Derrick) Jennings, and Catherine A. Napierala, who all survive.
She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren; Jeramey, Rachel, Andrea, Nathan, Ezekiel, Caleb, Michelle, Caitie, Cody, Matthew, Valerie and 16 great- grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
For the past five years Maxine has lived at the Ohio Living - Swan Creek Assisted Living in Maumee/Toledo, where the wonderful staff loved and cared for her. Many of them became a part of the family and will be greatly missed.
Maxine was born into the membership of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wauseon. She later regularly attended Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville where she joined the choir and helped with Sunday School. Currently, she is a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Toledo.
Through her early years Maxine worked with migrant and mentally handi- capped children in Wauseon. Later she worked for Material Handling in Waterville and then went on to handle accounting and payroll for the Ace Hardware Distribution Center where she worked for over 25 years, retiring in 2000.
Maxine loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. She was always ready to help and to listen. She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting and made blankets for each of her children and grand- children while watching NASCAR (Dale Earnhardt) and pretty much any sport.
Maxine always considered "13" her lucky number, because she turned 13 on Friday the 13th. Interestingly, her Celebration of Life will be held on Friday the 13th.
Maxine was the kindest soul and cared for everyone she met. She had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ and is now wrapped in a lavender, printed blanket that says, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Visitation will be held at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, Ohio this Friday, June 13th from 10:00-11:00. Her Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Entombment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the All Saints Lutheran Church or Ohio Living-Swan Creek Assisted Living.
