Maureen R. Russell

Maureen R. Russell, age 88 of Maumee passed away Saturday, May 14. 2022 in Kingston Residence of Perrysburg.  She was born August 18, 1933 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Charles and Henrietta Rigdon.  She was active with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation as a past board member.  She started the quilting group at St. Joseph’s Church in Maumee and volunteered at St. Joseph School and at Historic St. Patrick Church, Toledo.  Maureen was an avid nature and animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Russell.  Maureen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Michael; daughter Jeannette (Gary) Gordon; son, Erik (Catherine) Russell; grandchildren, Bryan, Anna and Nathaniel; and sister, Suzanne Van Horn.

Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home , Maumee on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.  Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 11 am in St. Joseph Church, Maumee.  Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials to the Toledo Zoo.  Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com
