Matthew David Spieldenner

August 31, 1979 — September 15, 2021

Matthew David Spieldenner, age 42- born August 31,1979, came to the end of his road (and Dreams) to be set free on September 15, 2021. He died very unexpectedly at his home in Dundee, Michigan, where he lived happily with his cherished rescue babies, Daisy and Bo, and his beautiful girlfriend, Casey. Matthew was a very generous and adventurous soul. He never met a stranger, and was quick to lend a hand, or offer any resources available to him. His sense of humor is legendary. Matt never missed an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation. He was always the first to apologize and say “I’m Sorry’ I love you, it’s not worth arguing about”. His work history, education, and life skills were as multifaceted as was Matt. He was a Certified Firefighter, EMT, NDT/Quality Control Tech, and an accomplished gardener. He was quite the entrepreneur, and past owner of several businesses including, Spieldenner Landscaping. But, he really just wanted a simple farm life, and was proud to call himself a Michigan Farmer. Matthew was an avid reader of anything relating to history and war. He was an enthusiastic crypto-market researcher, spending hours listening to podcasts with Daisy and Bo by his side. He was well read in physics, and quantum physics, and was known to have lengthy, deep conversations for hours on end with his beloved cousin, Donovan. He was generous to a fault with his animal rescue efforts, loved working and playing outdoors, and taking his fur family on their nightly walks. He was an extremely gifted writer, and a great friend to anyone in need. But most of all, he loved his entire family, including aunts, uncles, his nephew and niece and cousins. He had so many great friends that were like brothers to him that are too numerous to name. “Of all the special gifts in our lives, however great or small, to have you in our lives, was the greatest gift of all”. Matthew leaves behind his extremely brokenhearted family: Parents: Joyce M. Gates (mom), Richard W.Gates (Richey), Anthony P. Spieldenner (Pops), Sister: Holly M. Ontko, Nephew: Ethan I. Stokes, Niece: Olivia Hammons, Brothers: Anthony P. Hammons, Thomas W.Gates, Michael R. Gates, Girlfriend: Casey Dompky, Aunts: Peggy D.Montgomery (Rex), Linda G. Nix, Cindy L. Aldridge (Ross), Nina S. Aldridge (Roger), and Madonna McDonald (Mike), Uncles: Howard D. Ballard (Sandy) and Billy Kupka (Sharie), Cousins: Donovan P. Doust, Amy Evans, Neil Aldridge, Heath Aldridge, Derek Aldridge, Kylie Brown, Carrie Babcock, Mackenzie Warren, Adam Ballard, Mickey McDonald and Julie McDonald. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Niler and James McCormick, Ezekiel P. Nix and Rita Kupka. Uncles J. Prestel Nix and R. Dwayne Ballard. Special Cousin Dustin J. Doust.
