Matthew Victor Morrison

Matthew "Matt" Victor Morrison, age 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 24, 2025. Born on July 26, 1990, in Toledo, Ohio, Matt was the beloved son of Richard and Diana (Swanson) Morrison.

Matt was a proud graduate of Eastwood High School. After graduating, he found his true calling in the kitchen and pursued a career as a versatile chef. His passion for cooking reflected his generous spirit, he loved bringing people together through food.

Matt had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. An avid music lover, he listened to all kinds of genres and enjoyed collecting vinyl records and unique pins. Holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas were especially dear to him, as they gave him the chance to be surrounded by the family he loved so much.

He also found joy in the outdoors, often going camping and spending peaceful time in nature. Whether around a campfire or on the couch watching a NASCAR race, Matt cherished every moment spent with his friends.

Matt will be deeply missed by his parents, Richard and Diana; his brother, Richard Jr. (Jordyn); his cherished nephews, Bryce and Reese Morrison, and Kloe Gingrich; his grandmothers, Nancy Swanson and Nancy Morrison; his aunts, Dawn Kuhl and Lynda Swanson; uncles, Alan (Terry) Swanson, Mike Morrison, and Jim Morrison; his cousins, Harleigh Kuhl, Coral McCarty, Kimiko (Toufik) Zaim (Morrison), Kanae Morrison, and Koji Morrison; and his best friend, Matty Bradfield. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Morrison; father-in-law, Mark G. Reese; and grandfathers, James L. Morrison and George James Swanson.

Times of memorial gathering to celebrate Matt’s life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
