Matthew “Matt” J. McGarity, 40, of Toledo, Ohio died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Matt was born in Toledo on November 19, 1980. Matt married his love, Rachel L. Dennis on February 19, 2009. He was a dedicated and hard worker at Monnettes’ Market. Matts greatest passion in life was being a family man and hunting. He always made sure that his family was taken care of and his greatest joy was his wife and children. He was a natural born leader who inspired many and could make a dollar out of anything. Matt also enjoyed working outside and playing cards mainly poker and traveling. He was very opinionated and loved making inappropriate jokes. Matt will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, son, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. Matt is survived by the love of his life, Rachel McGarity; step-daughter, Elizabeth Dennis; sons, Dominic Matthew McGarity, and Logan Travis McGarity; mother, Shirley A. (Dybala) McGarity; step-mother-in-law, Lynn Fleure; brother-in-law, Thomas Edward (Colleen) Dennis Jr; sister-in-law, Rebecca (Matthew) Minton; nieces, Hayley (Dana), Jada, Alexandra and Lily; nephews, TJ, Brady and Tristan; great nephews, Greyson and Leo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Thomas Edward Dennis Sr; mother-in-law, Marlene Lynn Dennis. Friends and family will be received at Witzler Shank Walker Funeral Home 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral service will be in the funeral home on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM with entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
