Matthew D. Labine

Matthew D. LaBine, 52, of Oak Harbor, lost his 3 -year courageous battle with cancer on Monday, July 26, 2010, in H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio. Matthew was born February 8, 1958, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Howard and LaDonna Knopp LaBine. He worked as a janitor for 20+ years for Toledo Building Services at Davis Besse Nuclear Plant in Oak Harbor. Matthew was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Blackberry. His favorite pastimes were duck and geese hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. Matthew is survived by his parents of Oak Harbor, brothers, Howard Lori LaBine II of Moorehead, Kentucky, and Larson Brenda LaBine of Graytown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, his dog, Beaut, and godmother, CoraBelle Kajando. The funeral service will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17877 W. St. Rt. 579, Martin, with visitation 10:00 a.m.-12 noon prior. Interment will take place in Elliston Cemetery. The family suggests memorials for Matthew to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #1, Williston.
