Matthew P. Edinger

Matthew “Matt” P. Edinger, age 63 of Sylvania passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 in his home, following a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  He was born May 31, 1959 in Toledo to Elwood and Patricia Edinger. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University in 1981, then earned a second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering in 1998 from the University of Toledo. He worked for T.L. Industries as a software engineer for 37 years. Matt loved to fish and enjoyed playing Sylvania Senior Softball. He was an active member of Five Lakes Church.

Matt met the love of his life, Kathy, on a Young Life weekend in 1976 and the rest is history. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on September 4th of this year. He is also survived by their 3 wonderful sons, Steve (Shonah), Joel (Abbey) and Andy Edinger; sisters, Christy Gipson, Natalie (Dwight) Brautigam and Abby (Duane) Craddock; sister-in-law Sue (Jef) Chaplin; brother-in-law Bob (Chris) Scarlett; mother-in-law Marilyn Scarlett; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation and memorial services will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials to Five Lakes Church 4765 McCord Rd. Sylvania, Ohio 43560. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home and condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com
