Matthew Frederic Burdo

Matthew Frederic Burdo, age 57, of Perrysburg, passed away on December 10, 2014 in his home.  He was born to Frederic and Suzanne (Baldwin) Burdo on November 24, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio. Matt was a 1976 graduate of Maumee High School and worked for the Perrysburg Post Office as a Mail Carrier, where he retired after 32 years.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and often amazed them with his uncanny ability to recall significant dates and events in the lives of those he knew.  Matts interests included history and weather. Although he lived his whole life in Northwest Ohio, he traveled extensively. Matt is survived by his mother, Suzanne; sisters, Claudia (Daniel) Stein; Rebecca (Gary) Davenport; and Julie (David) Lenart; brother, Peter (Jeanette) Burdo. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins that he held dear and his beloved dog, Ginger.  He was preceded in death by his father, Frederic. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, Ohio on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Matts neighbors for their friendship.  Memorial contributions may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church or the charity of the donors choice.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
