Maryellen Whitson Kohl

MaryEllen (Whitson) Kohl, 88, of Perrysburg, Ohio died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Kingston of Perrysburg. She was born on April 5, 1929 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Lottie (Kopp) and Russell Whitson. She married her sweetheart, Dale H. Kohl on June 8, 1951. They celebrated 51 years together until his passing in 2002. MaryEllen and Dale worked on their family farm. MaryEllen enjoyed taking meals to the fields and hauling grains to Perrysburg Grain Elevator. MaryEllen was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church and also an honorary member of Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family and friends and her kitchen was open to all who was at her house. She will be deeply missed. MaryEllen is survived by her son, Gary A. (Lisa A.) Kohl; daughter, Karen S. (Fiancé, Marvin L. Diver) Dayss; step granddaughter, Alicia M. (Matt) Micel; and grandson, Marshall E. H. Kohl. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. S. Boundary Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Timothy Philabaum will be officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.
