Marybelle Bentley

MaryBelle M. Pohl Bentley, age 100, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. MaryBelle was a 1940 graduate of Whitmer High School and in her working years, she was employed for General Mills as a receptionist for over 25 years, before her retirement. MaryBelle always kept a positive attitude and a busy schedule. For many years, every Monday she attended the fried bologna special for the Conn-Weissenberger Legion Hall. Every Tuesday, she enjoyed Margarita Night at Magdalenas, and every Wednesday, she could be seen busting a move at Sod Busters. MaryBelle was a former member of the Maumee Elks, Eagles, and was a past chairman of the Whitmer High School all-class reunion committee. In her free time, MaryBelle enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, and spending time with her family. As the matriarch, family was everything to her and she cherished every moment spent with family and close friends.

MaryBelle M. Pohl Bentley was born on October 22, 1922, the daughter of Deforest and Merle (Roscoe) Krupp.

Left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Dick (Pam) Pohl and Tom Pohl; grandchildren, Randall Pohl (Suzanna)and Paula (Mike) Grieb; great-grandchildren, Jordan (Miranda) Pohl, Jeffrey Grieb (Katie), Justin Grieb (Alicia), and Danielle Grieb (John); great-great-grandchildren, Jordan Pohl, Jr., Kira Pohl, and Oliver Grieb; daughters by heart, Candy, Shelley, and Dawn; special niece, Michelle Klinger and best friend, Ethel. Marybelle is preceded in death by her parents, Deforest and Merle; one brother, Joe Krupp, and sister-in-law, Wanda Krupp.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 11:00AM-2:00PM, at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, following the visitation.
