Mary Ann Jennings-Wright born July 28, 1952, to the union of Mary McClair-Jennings and William Jennings. Mary Ann was called home September 8th at home surrounded by her loved ones. Mary Ann graduated Jesup W. Scott in 1970. After graduating, she began her career with the City of Toledo- where she later retired after 42 years in 2012. While working for the City of Toledo she later obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Toledo in 1997- cum laude. Mary Ann worked in serving the community for many years, this was where she built many friendships and partnerships. She was a member of; Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., a Golden key National Honor Society member since 1995, National Association of Human Rights Workers (NAHRW), Urban League of Greater Toledo, Frederick Douglas Center, Toledo Area Black Chamber of Commerce, A sworn member of the Lucas County Citizen Review Board. She also founded a volunteer reading service for area nursing homes in 1989, served on the scholarship committee of the University of Toledo Minority Alumni Association and was also volunteer mediator for the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division. Mary Ann was a woman who earned countless titles and held numerous positions throughout her life. However, amongst all those titles- she held dear to being a mother, grandmother, and minister. Mary Ann loved spreading the word of God. She loved ministering to all that would listen. She enjoyed fellowshipping and praying for and with all that she knew. Mary Ann enjoyed creating memories with family, friends, and the church family. She lived for challenging herself as well as others. Mary Ann took pride in all her achievements big and small. She will forever be remembered and missed dearly. She is preceded in death by her daughter; Timberly Ann Jennings, parents; Mary and William Jennings; brothers, William and Charles Jennings, Albert Mcclair; Grandson, Isaiah Xavier Wright. She is survived by her children; Aaron and Kelondna William Wright IV, Lequeta Monique (Tywon) Allison. Grandchildren; Aaron William Wright V, Domonique L. Austin, Saniah Ann Allison, Isabella Jolene Allison, Aleigha McKennah Allison and Nova Reign Allison; Sisters Menola Johnson, Ola Mae Hodges; Sister-in-law Roggie L Mcclair, Aunt; Chester B McClair, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
