Mary Witte

July 14, 1927 — June 25, 2012

Mary Witte, age 84, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born to Sterling and Ruth Webster Moulton on July 14, 1927 in Geneva, Ohio. Mary was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Charles Witte on September 9, 1950, who preceded her in death as did her brother, Richard Moulton. Mary was a member of First Congregational Church and served as the President of the Womens Fellowship for many years, enjoyed singing in the choir and playing in the Bell Choir. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was an avid bowler. Mary loved to travel with Chuck and friends all over the world, but home was always Ohio where her Buckeyes played. Mary enjoyed supporting the Toledo Zoo, Toledo Humane Society, Mobile Meals and collecting Hummel figurines. She is survived by her children, Carol Glenn Rambo; John Lynn Witte and Tom Witte; Grandchildren, Matthew Stephanie Rambo; Gregory Danielle Rambo; Steven Kylie Rambo; Evan Witte; Ryan Witte; Danielle Witte; Mason Witte and Samantha Witte. Great grandchildren, Charles Rambo and Lucy Rambo. Friends and family may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee, on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at First Congregational Church. A private interment will precede the funeral services at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, Toledo; Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Maumee Senior Center.
