Mary Pauline Weitzel, 91, of Oak Harbor passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 in her sunroom at her residence with her family at her side. She was born on January 12, 1919 in Iliff, CO to Lorenze and Mary Lambrecht Holman. On June 12, 1933 in North Platte, NB she married Robert Weitzel, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2007. She worked as a homemaker and also at Philco and Standard Products. Mary was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. She loved spending time with her family, especially the little children. Mary enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, baking, and cake decorating. She also enjoyed exercising in the school pool, antiquing, and shopping. Mary is survived by her loving family: children: Geneva George Tibbetts of Largo, FL, Richard Daisy Weitzel of Rocky Ridge, OH, Nancy Felice of Rochester, NY, JoAnn Donald Humphrey of Castalia, OH, and Gerri C.J. Smith of Perrysburg, OH; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Clarence Bud Palmer of Rocky Ridge, OH and Catherine Spinks of Denver, CO; and many nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and several brothers sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor beginning with prayers recited at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor with a Parish Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
