Mary M. Weisend

Mary M. Weisend, 92, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her residence. She was born March 11, 1919, in Watertown, Ohio, to Chauncey and Linna Mercer Waterman. On November 25, 1937, in Marietta, Ohio, she married Eugene P. Weisend, and her husband of 70 years preceded her in death on December 27, 2007. Mary had worked as a U.S. mail carrier in the Port Clinton area for 12 years. She was a member of LaPointe United Methodist Church in LaCarne. Mary and her husband spent 24 years wintering in Mesa, Arizona, enjoyed traveling, and she especially loved spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her sons, Robert Kay Weisend of Michigan, James Dorothy Weisend of Arizona, Patrick Debbie Weisend of Tennessee, and daughter, Sandra Drickhamer of Avon, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and three sisters. Memorial services for Mary will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at LaPointe United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, with visitation one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in LaCarpe Cemetery, LaCarne, Ohio. Memorial contributions for Mary may be given to LaPointe United Methodist Church, 7285 W. Harbor Rd., Port Clinton, OH 43452; or the Erie Township Volunteer Fire Department, P.O,. Box 223, Lacarne, OH 43439. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, is assisting the family with arrangements.
