Mary Jane Wallace

September 8, 1920 — December 30, 2017

Mary Jane Wallace, age 97, of Sylvania Twp passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Kingston Care Center. Jane was a graduate of Scott High School. She worked for Big Bear Supermarket, Champion Spark Plug, but the majority of her career was with Toledo Public Schools in food service. She was member of Ohio Association of Public School Employees and past president of Chapter 121 in 1964. She enjoyed ice skating, going to the movies, reading, sewing, dancing and interior decorating. Jane was fond of amusement parks, especially roller coasters, which she rode well into her 80s. She was a member of American Youth Hostel for over 30 years. This group would ride up to 50 miles a day for an entire summer. Jane believed bicycling was a great way to stay in shape and spend time with fellow bicyclist. She was a health enthusiast well before it became popular. She had been a member of Monroe St. United Methodist church for many years and was active with the Body Recall group at Epworth United Methodist. Jane traveled extensively, visiting 49 states and the Great Wall of China. She is survived by her children, Judy (Marshall) Bellman, James Wallace; grandchild, Troy Wright; great grandchildren, Branden and Lindsay Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Wallace. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wildwood Preserve Metropark, 5100 W. Central Ave Toledo, OH 43615.
